ASUS launches Dual OC series under Radeon RX 7900

New ASUS cards with AMD GPU.

Over a year and a half has passed since AMD introduced its Radeon RX 7900 GPUs. Interestingly, while some companies are scaling back their Radeon GPU operations, others are seizing the opportunity. ASUS has recently released two additional Radeon GPUs that may not appear new at first glance, but they are indeed the latest offerings from ASUS.

The new models surprise us with their look, featuring only two fan solutions. The design is actually borrowed from models like RX 6750 XT DUAL, but there was no DUAL card even in the RX 6800/6900 series. What’s even more interesting is that what’re you looking at is the very first RX 7900 XTX with only two fans (not including liquid-cooled solution).

As a quick reminder, the 7900 XT comes with the Navi 31 GPU and 5376 Stream Processors. This model has 20GB of GDDR6 memory and is powered by three 8-pin power connectors, requiring a 750W PSU. The Navi RX 7900 XTX model features the Navi 31 XTX GPU with 6144 Stream Processors, 24GB of GDDR6 memory, and also requires 3 connectors, but here the recommended power supply is 850W.

In terms of specs, the 7900 XT DUAL OC has a 2175 MHz game clock and a 2535 MHz boost clock when in OC mode. By default, it ships with 2075 and 2450 MHz clocks, respectively. The OC settings basically refer to how ASUS advertises the maximum OC clock applicable through software (GPU Tweak 3). The 7900 XTX model features up to 2455 MHz game clock and 2615 MHz boost clock.

The timing of this release is interesting, and the choice of cooler adds to the interest. Listings for these new cards are already appearing in Europe at some really high prices, not even worth mentioning.
