GMK Mini-PC with AMD Hawk Point
GMKtec promises 65W TDP setting for AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS.
The first Ryzen 8000 Mini-PCs are starting to appear, and it’s no surprise that some of them already have high-power TDP settings. The K8 system from GMK is not yet actually on sale, but the preorder page has gone live in China. The system is a successor to the GMK NucBox K6, which came equipped with Ryzen 7 7840HS. The 8845HS is a drop-in replacement for this APU.
According to AMD, the 8845HS has the same specs as the 7840HS, with an exception for the built-in NPU processor. AMD has increased the performance for AMD XDNA processor from 10 TOPS to 16 TOPS. The CPU still offers 8 Zen4 cores up to 5.1 GHz and 12 RDNA3 Compute Units clocked up to 2.7 GHz.

The K8 Mini-PC supports up to dual-channel DDR5-5600 memory and comes equipped with two PCIe Gen4x4 2280 slots. Officially the company is claiming their 8845HS will offer performance ‘close’ to GTX 1650 Ti, presumably that refers to the mobile graphics. This is possible thanks to an unlocked BIOS setting that will enable TDP up to 65W.

In terms of connectivity, there are two 2.5G network connectors, DisplayPort, HDMI and USB4 Type-C with support for 40 Gbps data transmission.
The K7 with 7840HS is currently priced at $579 while the 8845HS mode is now listed in China at 2499 RMB which is around $350. This seems like a good deal. Moreover, the company is running a time-limited promotion for customers in China offering the following:
- First 50 customers will receive game controller worth 159 RMB (~22 USD)
- Barebone : priced at 2,499 RMB (~$350)
- 32GB RAM + 1TB : priced at 3,499 RMB (~$490)
- Barebone + AR glasses : priced at 4,049 RMB (~$570)
- 32GB RAM + 1TB + AR glasses: priced at 5,049 RMB (~$710)
