The EXPERT FUZION GPU has hidden AIO cooler
MSI launches new RTX GPU, but we have already seen it in a different form.
Last week, MSI confirmed its plans for a new series of cards called FUZION. Only one model was presented, which was the RTX 4090 SUPRIM FUZION model. However, MSI is also developing a second model called EXPERT FUZION, which sounds familiar as it was one of the most discussed designs at CES 2024, where it was first presented.
The elegant cooler design with its push/pull dual-fan setup has been upgraded, not removed. In fact, MSI has replaced the heatsink inside the card with a full radiator featuring short tubes connected to a pump. This innovative design was developed in collaboration with Cooler Master.
Typically, when such releases occur, we learn about the improvements from the upgraded cooler design. However, in this case, there is no information on whether this new design actually brings any benefits. If this card ever becomes available, one should not expect it to be identical to the original RTX 4080 SUPER that came out in January. In fact, the FUZION model is a bit longer in design, but both cards retain the three-slot design.
MSI is currently showcasing this card at their Computex booth, and it’s also being displayed without the shroud attached. The entire VRM section and memory are fully covered, which is likely why the original air cooler was retained.
Well, in case you do visit MSI, just be aware of the typo with the memory. Unless MSI is making a very special version featuring 24GB capacity, that should say 16 GB instead.
