Crucial T705 PCIe Gen5 SSDs leak out, up to 14.5 GB/s read speed and 4TB capacity

T705: Crucial is preparing new series of SSDs

Up to 14.5 GB/s of read speed and 4TB capacity available.

Crucial is gearing up to introduce the next generation of its SSD lineup, succeeding the T700 series, which was recognized as one of the fastest PCIe Gen5 SSDs at launch featuring 12 GB/s read speed. The new storage solution incorporates Micron’s B58R FortisFlash TLC NAND technology, as Crucial is owned by Micron. The leak says that the new T705 series will be a lot faster.

As per the specifications shared by Jisakuhibi, the T705 series is expected to deliver random read IOPS ranging from 1400K to 1550K and random write IOPS ranging from 1750K to 1800K. The fastest speed is achieved by the 2TB variant, featuring a sequential read speed of 14.5 GB/s and a write speed of 12.7 GB/s. The 1TB version is also fast, with 13.6 GB/s for read and 10.2 GB/s for write.

The T705 series has a 4TB option, which is a rare capacity for modern PCIe Gen5 SSDs, especially at launch. This 4TB SKU is expected to deliver read and write speeds of 14.1 GB/s and 12.4 GB/s, respectively.

PCIe Gen5 SSDs (with 14GB/s+ read speed)

  • MSI Spatium M580 Frozr: 14 GB/s (Read) & 12 GB/s (Write)
  • Team Group T-Forze GE PRO: 14 GB/s (Read) & 11.8 GB/s (Write)
  • Sabrent Rocket 5: 14 GB/s (Read) & 12 GB/s (Write)
  • Crucial T705: 14.5 GB/s (Read) & 12.7 GB/s (Write)

While Crucial has not yet disclosed the pricing and release date, it seems the official website went live prematurely, and this is how we ended up learning about this new product. Further details are to follow very soon.
