ASUS confirms next-gen AMD laptops, and there are plenty
At least 14 ROG laptops are in the making at ASUS.
AMD is gearing up to launch its latest Zen5-based laptop and desktop CPU series sometime this year, although the exact release date remains uncertain. However, there’s an expectation that some major updates on the progress of Zen5 will be unveiled in just one month at Computex. AMD’s CEO, Dr. Lisa Su, is scheduled to reveal details about the new series during the event.
There’s a possibility that attendees might also catch a glimpse of actual laptops featuring these Zen5 CPUs, based on a leak from the ASUS website. ASUS inadvertently disclosed information about laptops set to be powered by a new 240W compact power supply, thereby indirectly confirming the lineup of next-gen AMD laptops.

Among the lineup, there are Ryzen 8040 gaming systems equipped with Hawk Point architecture, alongside Ryzen x050 laptops making use of the brand-new Zen5 architecture.
It’s been determined that laptops with a “W” in their codename are likely to have Strix Point APUs, whereas those with a “U” are likely to have Hawk Point APUs. Furthermore, the last letter in the codename indicates the presence of a discrete GPU option. Additionally, the last letter refers to the discrete GPU option. In this case, one can determine the basic specs of these new laptops simply by looking at their names.

The leaked Computex 2024 product launch schedule has already mentioned several of these systems. AMD is set to introduce new TUF A14/A16 systems, along with a refreshed ROG Zephyrus G16 laptop during the event.
