AOKZOE A2 Ultra preorders start at $692
The device is now available for preorder.
AOKZOE has officially launched the A2 Ultra handheld in China. The good news is that it is available through normal retail channels (sold on T-Mall), but the bad news is that it is still quite expensive.
The A2 Ultra is the second Intel handheld featuring the Core Ultra CPU series. This new system is not yet available in stores, but preorders have just started in China. Currently, there is no word on the global availability of this product, and AOKZOE’s official social media accounts are a bit quiet at the moment.
AOKZOE Handhelds (best SKU)
- AOKZOE A1: Ryzen 7 6800U
- AOKZOE A1 Pro: Ryzen 7 7840U
- AOKZOE A2: Ryzen 7 7840U
- AOKZOE A2 Ultra: Core Ultra 7 155H / Core Ultra 5 125H 🆕
The A2 Ultra succeeds the “A2,” which was equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U processor based on Phoenix silicon with Zen4 and RDNA3 architecture. The Ultra features an Intel CPU and comes in two variants: the Core Ultra 7 155H, a 16-core version with 8 GPU Xe-Cores, or the 14-core Core Ultra 5 125H with 7 GPU Xe-Cores. Drawing from the example of the MSI Claw, which also offers two Meteor Lake CPUs, it’s possible that the 7 Xe-Core version might be quite capable and also much cheaper.
This handheld features a 7-inch screen and comes with either 16GB or 32GB of LPDDR5X-7467 memory. It supports standard M.2 2280 storage based on PCIe Gen4x4 specifications.
A2 Ultra Pricing
- Core Ultra 5 125H + 16GB RAM + 512GB: 4,999 RMB ($692)
- Core Ultra 7 155H + 32GB RAM + 1TB: 6,399 RMB ($885)
- Core Ultra 7 155H + 32GB RAM + 2TB: 7,199 RMB ($996)
The company has not yet confirmed pricing for the 64GB RAM version, which should also be available later. Overall, compared to the MSI Claw, the AOKZOE A2 Ultra should hardly be considered an upgrade. This, combined with limited availability and the lack of official global sales (at the time of writing), suggests that it will likely be even less popular than the MSI handheld.
