Radeon RX 7800 XT and 7900 XT hit new low prices in Germany at a single retailer

A wind of change?

Mindfactory, one of the well-known German stores for PC components, has a promotion page called “Mindstar” featuring heavily discounted products. Before we get into details, it’s worth mentioning that this retailer has certain restrictions on sales outside Germany. Customers from other European countries might need to use shipping proxy services to take part in these promotions. But that is just an option, not something we recommend due to complexities involving warranty claims.

Even so, the fact that such a large retailer is offering discounts could point to an new price trend, suggesting that retailers and board partners are willing to lower the cost of AMD’s popular desktop GPU, the Radeon RX 7800 XT.

The PowerColor RX 7800 XT Hellhound is now available at just €499, so over €50 below MSRP. This is not the first time this Radeon SKU has dropped below MSRP, but the first time it has reached the €500 mark.

According to the price aggregation service from Geizhals, this price is the lowest ever for this model as well, which typically sells for around €570. Worth highlighting that customers can also find other models at €530, so it’s not the only card already below MSRP.

One should also notice the new price for Radeon RX 7900 XT. As we know, this SKU debuted in Germany at €1049 in December 2022 and has received a price cut to €769 in late January. This is the first time this SKU is available below €700.

As always, Mindfactory offers are difficult to compare to other retailers, but one should see this as a sign of change and possibly an incentive to other retailers to drop the price as well. That retailer probably didn’t decide to handle such a promotion with 500 graphics cards on their own; it seems like PowerColor might have adjusted their margins, leading to this initiative.
