AMD joins the battle against bugs, FSR3 now in "Starship Troopers: Extermination", also coming to "The Thaumaturge"

AMD FSR3 comes to “Starship Troopers: Extermination” and “The Thaumaturge”

AMD’s third generation upscaling technology gaining momentum.

Starship Troopers Extermination is a new co-op game based on the iconic movie from 1997. The game uses Unreal Engine 4. The mission is to fight under the flag of United Citizen Federation with the Arachnid Empire, also known as bugs. The game has not yet been released officially, but it is already available in early access. The most recent patch 0.6.2 has brought important updates for those on NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards.

The game now supports Deep Learning Super Sampling, interestingly the version without Frame Generation. On the other hand, there is support for FSR3 which actually does support Frame Generation. Worth adding that the game also supports Intel XeSS.

Lumen HWRT is hardware ray tracing, it uses the physical GPU hardware.

Lumen SWRT is a compute shader (software only) and does the ray tracing internally

Please make sure your hardware supports these settings, as performance may be impacted.

Just so you know, the game doesn’t support FSR profiles right now. So, once you turn it on, there won’t be any such option. They’re planning to add that later, along with other upscaling technologies. On the bright side, the game already has resolution scaling support.

Regarding “The Thaumaturge,” this game hasn’t hit the shelves yet, but the good news is that the developer confirmed it’s set to launch on February 20th with AMD FSR3 on board. This dark RPG, unfolding in Warsaw during the 20th century, offers an isometric gameplay style.

The current list of FSR3 supported games now lists 14 titles.
